		<title>So Far So Good!</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My last blog explained that following a period of maintaining my weight, I wanted to have an extra push to lose more weight. I am pleased to say that I have lost an additonal 7 pounds! Before you say it, I know it is a weight loss of much more than 1 Pound a Week, but that is OK. I did a mini diet lasting 1 week to kick start it.</p>
<p>I am now half way to my eventual target weight loss, and things are going very well. My goal is to get to my target in 1 -2 years. As I say in the book, as long as the weight change is going in the right direction, I am not in a rush to lose the weight, and this way it will stay off, and that has to be everyone&#8217;s ideal end goal, to keep the weight off once it has been lost.</p>
<p>Having said it could take 1-2 years, I also think it will happen slightly earlier than that, because the 1poundaweek plan has changed my view on what and how much I need to eat, it really has made life changes to my approach to food. These simple, slow changes can have a lasting effect. The upside of this is that I have less &#8216;bad days&#8217;, and I find it very much easier to have less calories than I need in a day, and that in turn means I lose weight.</p>
<p>The next big thing I am working on is increasing the excersise. There is no doubt in my mind that if I could increase the number of times a week that I excersise, the weight would then really go, and I could achieve my goals in 3-4 months. However, the key is to establish life long habits, and so I am always careful that the increase in excersise needs to be to a level I find enjoyable and sustainable. Of course the more excersise you do the more you want to continue doing it, so again, hopefully those little life changes can become permanent, and the virtuous circle will continue. I will keep you updated!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I last posted. Work has been very busy, and I have had to focus on a couple of projects. Not only is this not good for keeping up with blog posts, it is also the perfect opportunity for weight to creep back on. This has been my weakness over many years, as I am prone to immersing myself in work and not noticing my weight creeping up.</p>
<p>Well, the good news is that even under those less than perfect conditions, I am very pleased to report that my weight has remained very stable. In fact, at the time of the busy schedule, the batteries went flat on our weighing scales, and so I was not able to weigh myself daily, which as we all know by now, is vital, to gain the feedback we all need to maintain weight. The good thing is that the good habits did not fade away, and so I was able to maintain a steady weight.</p>
<p>It is however holiday time now, and as I write this, I have just returned from two weeks holiday. Those of you who have read the book will know that this is a hard time for me. I believe that you should enjoy yourself on holiday, and that inevitably results in weight gain! The local food has to be experienced, and the local wine! I return from holiday four pounds heavier. I am not too concerned about that, it has been worse. Four pounds are relatively easy to drop, especially holiday pounds. However, I have decided that as my weight has been static for quite a long period now, it is time to go to the next level of weight loss. I am looking to drop another 7-10 pounds.</p>
<p>I love this aspect of the 1poundaweek plan, the fact that I feel so &#8216;in control&#8217;. Having maintained my weight for a longer period than ever before in my life, I have the confidence to now continue on my journey to get to my ideal weight. NO fuss, NO dread, just a quiet confidence that I can drop that weight. Of course, now I have gone public, there is an extra pressure to achieve it.</p>
<p>I will report back on my progress, I am not sure how fast I will get there, but remember my moto, there is no rush, I have the rest of my life.
